Hazardous Waste Disposal important for the Environment

Why Hazardous Waste Disposal is so important for the Environment

Many businesses contribute to this national epidemic!

Proper Hazardous Waste Disposal will help.

Hazardous Waste Disposal is one of the most important business models in America today! As Americans we produce more than 50 million tons of hazardous waste a year. This waste may include Medical, Pharmaceutical, Biohazard, and many others that are drastically affecting the environment if not properly disposed of. On a large scale, there are many businesses that contribute to this national epidemic. Some of the major problem areas are coming from industrial facilities, chemical manufacturing plants and major petroleum and oil refineries.

Back in 1967 a system was created called the RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act) to collect and manage all Hazardous Waste. This act was put into place to manage and track the way hazardous waste was produced, handled, stored, and transported, most importantly disposed of.

  3. Great Blog! Yes, its very true that we must throw or try to manage all our hazardous materials or might as well put them in a sharps container to avoid accident.Used needles and other sharps are hazardous to people and pets if not disposed of safely because they can injure people and spread infections that cause serious health conditions.
